Core Strategy Interim Sustainability Appraisal Report

The Core Strategy Interim Sustainability Appraisal Report has been published in support of the Core Strategy Policy Directions Consultation Paper (May 2011) and sets out the outcomes of the Sustainability Appraisal (SA) process to date. The first formal SA consultation stage will take place later this year at the Preferred Options Stage and the SA report will be further developed to accompany and support this significant stage in the development of the Local Development Framework. However, if you wish to make any comments at this interim stage, we would be pleased to receive them.
The structure and content of this interim SA report reflects the policies and options put forward in the Core Strategy Policy Directions Consultation Paper which are part of the emerging spatial strategy. SA outcomes and recommendations are made in relation to the following:

County Durham Plan Core Strategy Objectives;

Preferred Housing Distribution;

Executive Housing;
-
Strategic Employment Sites;
-
Waste Strategy; and
-
Strategic Renewable Energy.
This Interim SA Report also provides an update in relation to; other strategic housing sites; Durham City greenbelt; potential strategic transport routes; employment distribution; retail distribution and green infrastructure.
